It’s been a while since I posted here, but that’s because I’ve not been doing anything of import gameswise.
In November I decided I needed to quit FFXI for a while. I logged in for a few minutes during the recent free login campaign to check something and haven’t been back since.
I logged into PSO Ephinea for reals in early November, played it for a bit, but slowly started realizing after a few weeks I wasn’t having as much fun as I did with PSO back on the Dreamcast some 26 years ago. I made some friends on it, though, and the server’s Discord is a fun place to hang out and chat, so I might go back to it at some point. I had elected to play FOmarl this time, and a part of me wants to try HUnewearl, but I’m just not sure. The game is fun and the community is nice, plus I could swap it to Japanese if I wanted (more about this later) which is handy.
All the while I’ve been keeping an eye on FFXIV’s development. The fanfests are coming up this year, so the next expansion will likely be revealed, which will determine if I’m actually going back or not. I logged in during their recent free login campaign just enough to make some adjustments with the Fantasia I still have active and swapped my character over to Samurai. I’ve decided that if I do go back to FFXIV ever, I’m going to pivot to Samurai as my main. Red Mage is just not the same, and I’m getting a bit tired of tanking with Paladin.
Anyway, I mentioned playing PSO in Japanese: one thing I’ve been doing in the last few weeks in particular is begin studying Japanese again a bit more seriously, so expect there to be Japanese text in posts going forward. I’ll probably discuss this more on the main blog further in a few weeks.
またね!
